After months of hard work and preparation from all the team at Friends Of Roxbourne Park the day finally arrived and the weather was kind to us with the sun making an appearance. It was an early start for the ElliotLee team, setting up their stall from around 8am with dozens of other stall holders looking to be ready for the thousands of people expected to arrive by midday where there was a minutes silence in remembrance of Queen Elizabeth respectfully held by all.

Events quickly got underway with crowds arriving as expected, the array of food stalls was always going to be popular with South African, Asian Italian pizza and pasta, German doner kebab and burger stalls to keep us from going hungry along with crepes, deep fried ice cream, cakes, fudge, sweets, biscuits, coffee, fresh lemonade and many more.
There was entertainment all afternoon supplied by live music on the Pavilion Stage and children activities, inflatables, fairground rides and trampolines to keep the younger visitors busy
The main event was always going to be the main event and the competition was fierce with so many amazing dogs on show and the crowds gathered to cheer on the winners. Visit the ROXYfest facebook group to see some of the dogs on show.
Overall it was fantastic community day with lots of local businesses and the local community coming together as one to enjoy a wonderful day, one that we look forward to being part of again next year
The winners of our competitions will be announced shortly, the guess the number of Jelly Beans was won with a guess just 3 away from being spot on and picking up a £75 cash prize. Our children’s colouring competition will also be collecting their gift voucher for a local toy store
